Getting started with linkz.io
linkz.io gives your business one link that shows when you're next free and puts customers in touch with you. Put it in your Instagram bio, on your van and at the bottom of your invoices, and change what it does whenever you like.
1. Sign in
Go to app.linkz.io and enter your email address. We'll send you a link that signs you in; it works once, within 15 minutes. There's no password to remember. Signing in with Google is coming soon.
If the email isn't in your inbox, check your junk folder and mark it as not junk, so the next one arrives safely.
2. Your name
If you claimed a name on the waiting list, it's already yours: your page lives at linkz.io/yourname. If you didn't, choose one now. Names are 3 to 30 characters: lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens.
3. Build your page
- Pick what people come to you for. Appointments, visits and quotes, calls and projects, classes and events, tables and orders, or something else. It sets up the right buttons to start with, and you can change any of them.
- Add your logo. We'll suggest a colour scheme taken from it. The free plan has three schemes: one from your logo, Ink and pink, and Plain.
- Add your buttons. Book a slot, WhatsApp, call, email, any link, or a PDF such as a price list.
- Get paid. On the free plan your page can show "pay on the day" and your bank transfer details.
Changes go live on your page straight away.
4. Connect your diary
Your page shows your next free slot by reading when you're busy. We only ever read busy times: never the titles, people, places or notes of your appointments. The quickest way to connect is your diary's private address, which you paste into linkz.
Google Calendar (on a computer): open Settings, choose your calendar under "Settings for my calendars", then go to "Integrate calendar" and copy the "Secret address in iCal format".
Outlook or Microsoft 365 (Outlook on the web): open Settings, then Calendar, then Shared calendars. Under "Publish a calendar", choose your calendar and "Can view when I'm busy", click Publish, and copy the ICS link.
Apple iCloud Calendar: in linkz, choose Apple Calendar. You'll need an app-specific password, which lets linkz read your calendar without your Apple password. Go to account.apple.com, sign in, open Sign-In and Security, then App-Specific Passwords, and create one called "linkz". Paste it into linkz with your Apple ID email. We read only when you're busy, and you can cancel the password from your Apple account at any time. (If you'd rather not, you can share your calendar as a public link instead, but anyone with that link could see your appointments, so we don't recommend it.)
Then, in linkz, set your working hours, how long a slot is, any gap between slots, and how soon and how far ahead people can pick a time. If your diary stops syncing, we'll warn you and hide your slots rather than show the wrong ones.
5. Your code
Your free plan comes with one code. Download it as a picture or a print-ready PDF and put it on your van, your window, your cards or your counter. Your code points at your page to start with, and you can change where it goes at any time, even after it's printed. We count how many times it's scanned.
6. Put your link everywhere
- Instagram: Edit profile, then Links, then add your linkz.io link.
- Facebook Page: add your link as the Page's website, and point the "Book now" button at it.
- Google Business Profile: add your link as your website and as your appointment link.
- TikTok: add your link as the website in your bio. TikTok shows a website link on business accounts, and on personal accounts only once they reach its follower threshold.
- WhatsApp Business: add your link as the website on your business profile.
- Your email signature and your invoices: one line, "Book or pay: linkz.io/yourname".
Links to your Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other profiles can be shown as icons on your page too; that arrives during the beta.
What to expect in the beta
During the private beta, when a customer taps "Book" or picks a slot, it opens WhatsApp, email or a phone call to you, with the time already written in. You confirm it as you do now. Bookings that go straight into your diary, with deposits taken through your page, come with Pro.
