Deposits
Ask for a deposit when customers book, paid straight into your own Stripe or Square account.
(Pro)
Deposits need Pro, Stripe or Square connected in Payments, and bookings straight into your diary.
A deposit holds a booking. It goes straight into your own Stripe or Square account. We never hold it and never take a cut.
Set it up
- In Payments, connect Stripe or Square and choose it for Deposits under Which button uses which. See Getting paid.
- In Bookings, under What people can book, put an amount in Deposit for each service that needs one. Leave it empty for none.
- Choose Save services.
The customer then sees a button such as Book and pay £20 deposit and pays on the next page. The time is held for 30 minutes while they pay.
If no provider is chosen for deposits, bookings are made without one. Booking requests never take a deposit.

Your cancellation rules
Under Changes and cancellations:
- Customers can move a booking up to: choose how close to the time they can still change it.
- If they cancel after that: choose You keep the deposit or The deposit is refunded.
Each change saves as soon as you make it.
Refunds
- A customer cancels before your cut-off: the deposit is always refunded.
- A customer cancels after it: your rule decides.
- You cancel: the deposit is always refunded.
Refunds go back from your own account. Under Coming up, each booking shows deposit paid, deposit refunded or deposit kept. If a refund doesn’t go through, you’ll see Refund it yourself: make it from your provider’s dashboard. Use the dashboard for part refunds and disputes too.
