Connect Apple Calendar (iCloud)

Connect your iCloud calendars privately with an app-specific password.

Apple doesn’t let apps sign in to iCloud with your normal password. Instead you make an app-specific password: a separate password just for linkz.io, which you can cancel at any time. Your Apple password never comes near us.

Make the password

  1. On any device, go to account.apple.com and sign in.
  2. Open Sign-In and Security, then App-Specific Passwords.
  3. Choose to generate a new one. Call it linkz.
  4. Copy the password Apple shows you.

You need two-factor authentication on your Apple Account for this. Most accounts already have it.

Connect it

  1. In linkz.io, open Connections.
  2. On the Apple Calendar card, choose Connect.
  3. Enter your Apple ID email and paste the App-specific password. Choose Connect.
  4. We find your calendars. Under Calendars that count, tick the ones whose busy times should block your slots, then Save calendars.

We read only when you’re busy. We don’t keep your calendars’ names, or anything about your appointments.

If it doesn’t work

  • “Enter the email address of your Apple ID.” Use the email you sign in to Apple with.
  • It won’t connect. Check you pasted the app-specific password, not your Apple password.
  • It stops working later. Changing your Apple password cancels app-specific passwords. Make a new one and connect again.
  • To stop linkz reading your calendar, choose Disconnect in linkz, or delete the password at account.apple.com.
